About the Role
The engineer will design and program building automation systems, configure site‑specific controls, develop control algorithms, create design documentation, and build graphical and text‑based user interfaces. They will also test programs, support functional testing, provide technical assistance to sales, and communicate project opportunities and risks. • Design, program, and configure building automation systems and control algorithms • Produce clear technical design documents and user interface specifications • Conduct testing of programs, interfaces, and functional system performance • Provide technical support to sales teams and communicate project risks and opportunities • Maintain knowledge of Automated Logic software, hardware, and third‑party protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.) • Meet physical requirements: climb ladders >8 ft and lift items up to 50 lb

What You Bring
The Controls Engineer role supports ALC’s business by designing advanced building automation systems tailored to each customer. The position requires teamwork, strong problem‑solving, time‑management and multitasking abilities, and offers the chance to work on larger, moderately complex projects. Candidates must have at least a high school diploma with relevant experience, or an associate/bachelor’s degree with BAS or HVAC controls experience. Preferred qualifications include an engineering degree, knowledge of Automated Logic software and hardware, experience with BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, and proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Excel, Teams, and the ability to translate technical information for varied audiences. Physical ability to climb ladders and lift up to 50 lb is required. • Apply engineering or construction education and 2+ years BAS/HVAC controls experience (or equivalent experience) • Demonstrate proficiency with Microsoft Visio, Excel, Teams, and ability to present technical information to diverse audiences
