About the Role
The specialist will work closely with the engineer‑in‑charge and other technical staff to produce CADD drawings, sketches, and renderings for complex projects. Responsibilities include resolving design discrepancies, preparing civil and structural plans, models, sections, material lists, and supporting staff engineers with calculations and GD&T. Collaboration extends to cross‑functional teams such as geotechnical, electrical, and architectural draftsmen, while maintaining compliance with city, state, and federal regulations. • Generate CADD drawings, sketches, and renderings of varying scale and complexity. • Collaborate with engineers to resolve design details and discrepancies using CADD tools. • Prepare civil and structural design deliverables, including plans, models, sections, and material lists. • Collect and integrate data from site surveys, historical documents, and verbal instructions to support drafting. • Assist engineers with geometric dimensioning, tolerance analysis, and quantity calculations. • Coordinate with cross‑functional drafting teams (geotechnical, electrical, mechanical, architectural, etc.). • Ensure all deliverables comply with city codes, state and federal regulations. • Uphold workplace safety standards and adhere to WSP’s health, safety, and conduct policies. • Perform duties on flexible schedules to meet project deadlines, including occasional overtime.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a high‑school diploma and possess at least 11 years of post‑education experience in drafting and design support. Required skills include knowledge of relevant codes, ability to perform technical computations, strong communication, self‑leadership, and the capacity to work independently or within a team. An analytical mindset, proficiency with technical writing and office software, and a proven safety record are essential; occasional travel may be needed. Preferred qualifications include an associate degree or industry certification and experience with REVIT, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, and Autodesk ReCap. Familiarity with drafting for ports and marine structures, both new designs and rehabilitations, is highly valued. • Maintain a minimum of 11 years of post‑education drafting and design experience. • Demonstrate proficiency in technical calculations, code knowledge, and technical writing. • Exhibit strong interpersonal, communication, and self‑leadership abilities. • Possess analytical judgment for problem solving and decision making. • Preferred: Associate degree or industry certification and experience with REVIT, AutoCAD/Civil 3D, MicroStation, OpenRoads, or Autodesk ReCap. • Preferred: Prior drafting experience on ports, marine structures, and related rehabilitation projects.
