About the Role
The Environmental Health & Safety Manager will develop and implement safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and the approved Site Specific Health and Safety Plan. The role includes conducting detailed safety audits, creating safe work plans and job hazard analyses with foremen and superintendents, and performing incident investigations with root‑cause analysis. Additional duties involve maintaining OSHA, DOB, and NYC DEP reporting data, conducting respiratory fit tests, inspecting safety equipment, and leading safety meetings. • Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to meet regulatory requirements. • Ensure adherence to the Site Specific Health and Safety Plan. • Conduct detailed safety audits of construction sites. • Create safe work plans and job hazard analyses with foremen and superintendents. • Perform incident investigations and produce root‑cause analyses. • Maintain data for OSHA, DOB, and NYC DEP reporting. • Conduct respiratory fit testing after medical clearance. • Identify hazards and implement corrective actions. • Inspect safety and rescue equipment regularly. • Collect and maintain a log of Safety Data Sheets (SDS). • Organize and lead safety meetings and stand‑downs. • Liaise with site superintendents to proactively manage EH&S risks. • Deliver safety training and new‑hire orientations. • Maintain site records and act as liaison with city agencies. • Enforce disciplinary actions and retraining for unsafe conditions. • Apply OSHA and EPA regulations on project sites.

What You Bring
A bachelor’s degree in occupational safety and health or a related construction field is preferred, with a high school diploma or GED required. Candidates must have at least 15 years of experience on large‑scale civil or building construction projects and hold an NYC DOB Site Safety Manager (SSM) license. Experience applying OSHA and EPA regulations, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and strong written and verbal communication skills are also required. • Hold a NYC DOB Site Safety Manager (SSM) license. • Proficiently use Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.

Benefits
The salary range for this position is $155,000 – $185,000, dependent on experience. Tutor Perini Corporation is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety Manager for its Manhattan, New York City project site. ***NO STAFFING AGENCY CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION***.
