About the Role
The Facility Maintenance Technician is tasked with maintaining and repairing the facility’s infrastructure, machinery, and equipment. This role includes performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting issues, and completing necessary repairs to ensure optimal operation of the plant. Key duties involve conducting regular inspections, performing routine maintenance such as plumbing and electrical system checks, and troubleshooting mechanical and electrical equipment like pumps, motors, and generators. The technician also coordinates with external vendors for specialized repairs and responds promptly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize downtime. The technician develops and implements preventive maintenance schedules, keeps detailed records of all maintenance activities, and performs basic carpentry work including repairs to doors, windows, and walls. They also address building issues such as leaks or structural damage and maintain the exterior of the facility, including landscaping, snow removal, and parking lot upkeep. • Conduct regular facility inspections and address maintenance issues. • Perform routine plumbing, electrical, and system checks. • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical/electrical equipment such as pumps, motors, and generators. • Coordinate with external vendors for specialized equipment repairs. • Respond quickly to emergency maintenance requests to minimize downtime. • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules. • Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities. • Perform basic carpentry repairs to doors, windows, and walls. • Maintain exterior grounds, including landscaping, snow removal, and parking lot upkeep. • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and participate in safety training. • Communicate maintenance status and recommendations to departments and contractors.

What You Bring
Applicants need a high school diploma or GED and certification in a skilled maintenance trade (e.g., Electrical, Millwright, Plumber/Pipefitter, HVAC, Welder, Sheet Metal) with at least one year of experience in industrial or facility maintenance, construction, or a related field. Preferred qualifications include material handling certification, Lock Out/Tag Out, Lifting & Rigging, preventive or predictive maintenance experience, or journeyman/trades licensing. Additional certifications such as a Vo‑Tech certificate in a maintenance trade and an associate degree are advantageous. The role requires knowledge of Microsoft Office and preventive maintenance software, as well as familiarity with equipment controls, NESC, UL/ETL standards, and the ability to follow written or verbal instructions. The work environment demands the ability to lift up to 50 lb, stand or walk for most of the shift, and work on lifts at heights while wearing proper personal protective equipment. Employees are exposed to varying temperatures, loud noises, dust, chemical fumes, sharp metal objects, and heavy forklift traffic, and the position is safety‑sensitive, requiring drug and alcohol testing. • Possess a high school diploma/GED and certification in a skilled maintenance trade with at least 1 year of relevant experience.
