About the Role
The Project Director supports engineering programs within the Planning and Engineering Office, overseeing front‑end elements of construction projects from conception through design and construction. The role ensures consistency and compliance of engineering design documents, provides guidance on federal and state regulations, and collaborates with the Construction and Rail Operations Offices to develop systems‑related policies. The Director also leads the design and development of railway components, including civil infrastructure, stations, and maintenance facilities. • Assist front‑end construction phases to ensure smooth execution from concept through design and build. • Develop, maintain, and enforce engineering design guidance, criteria, specifications, and management plans. • Collaborate with Construction and Rail Operations to create and implement systems‑related policies, including integration and certification. • Support design, planning, and commercial development of stations, alignments, and address construction inquiries. • Resolve infrastructure engineering issues to meet Authority requirements and standards. • Oversee corridor planning activities and coordinate feedback with state and regional agencies. • Advise the Chief of Planning and Engineering on complex, high‑sensitivity engineering programs throughout the project lifecycle. • Manage engineering activities to ensure consistency and integration across teams. • Prepare status reports and maintain issue‑resolution tracking logs. • Adhere to SOX controls where applicable.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field with 20+ years of relevant experience (or equivalent). • Minimum 8 years of leadership experience managing planning and engineering teams or projects. • Extensive background overseeing high‑speed rail or similar railway engineering and planning, ensuring compliance with standards. • Experience managing railway systems, maintenance facilities, stations, and trainsets. • Proven ability to lead large‑scale projects and collaborate with cross‑functional teams. • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, sustainability, and infrastructure design. • Excellent communication, problem‑solving, and stakeholder‑relationship skills. • Master’s degree in engineering or related discipline (preferred). • Professional Engineer (PE) license or comparable certification (preferred). • Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar credential (preferred). • Experience handling public‑sector planning and engineering projects with government agencies (preferred). • Expertise in environmental compliance, sustainability practices, and systems integration (preferred). • Familiarity with Primavera, Microsoft Project, and engineering design tools (preferred).

Benefits
The full‑time position offers a salary range of $190K‑$230K, reflecting base salary only.
