About the Role
The Project Manager will own end‑to‑end delivery of projects from pre‑construction through commissioning and handover. You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage staff development and ensure recruitment and retention of key personnel. Strong leadership and commercial awareness are essential to meet KPI and PI targets. You will manage several concurrent projects, developing relationships with Severn Trent Water and Galliford Try’s technical and non‑technical teams. Financial responsibility includes profit‑and‑loss ownership, performance reporting and monthly reviews with the Commercial Manager and senior leadership. You will also support pre‑construction tenders and identify new opportunities within the framework. • Manage end‑to‑end delivery of Severn Trent AMP 8 projects from pre‑construction to handover. • Lead and develop multidisciplinary project teams, overseeing recruitment, retention and performance. • Build and maintain key relationships with Severn Trent Water and internal technical/non‑technical stakeholders. • Own profit‑and‑loss responsibility for the project portfolio and provide regular financial performance reports. • Support pre‑construction tenders and identify new business opportunities within the framework. • Produce and maintain programme schedules, risk registers, health & safety and environmental performance updates. • Ensure compliance with NEC contract conditions, CDM regulations and company quality, safety and environmental systems. • Oversee subcontractor RAMS, procurement of plant/materials and preparation of contract documentation and final accounts. • Interpret technical drawings and specifications, coordinating with suppliers, specialist sub‑contractors and site teams.

What You Bring
Galliford Try is seeking an experienced Project Manager for the AMP 8 framework, based in Packington and serving the Nottinghamshire area. The role sits within the Environment Business and supports the Severn Trent AMP 8 Design & Build projects. Successful candidates will travel to multiple high‑value sites across the region. Key outputs include programme schedules, risk registers, health‑and‑safety and environmental performance updates, and contract documentation such as as‑built drawings and commissioning manuals. Knowledge of NEC contract conditions and compliance with CDM and environmental legislation are required. Procurement of plant, materials and specialist subcontractors will be coordinated to achieve best value and timely delivery. We require an ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent, CSCS card and IOSH or CITB SMSTS certification. Demonstrable experience with NEC contracts, the water industry and Microsoft Office packages is essential. You must be a strong team player with excellent communication skills, able to prioritise workload and work under pressure. • Hold an ONC/HNC/B.Eng or NVQ equivalent, CSCS card and IOSH/SMSTS certification; experience with NEC contracts and the water industry.
