About the Role
In addition to operating a company‑owned commercial vehicle, the driver is responsible for safe loading and unloading, monitoring job‑site conditions, maintaining accurate product inventory, and ensuring proper paperwork. • Responsible for delivering products and materials to customer’s jobsites using the most efficient route while obeying traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies • Unload or assist in unloading products at the customer’s jobsite using crane, conveyor, piggybacks, or by hand • Ensure delivery schedules are met while providing friendly and professional customer service • Secure returning loads on the company vehicle before leaving the job site • Complete required paperwork for deliveries, returns, and transfers to ensure accurate inventory tracking • Assist in loading and securing residential and commercial building products on trucks and verify materials and quantities for accuracy • Maintain cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles inside and out • Perform routine safety checks on vehicles according to company policies • Assist in yard and warehouse with stocking, loading, and organizing building and lumber materials • Help customers in the yard with loading material and product questions when not driving a delivery truck • Maintain an acceptable driving record for the past 60 months operating a commercial motor vehicle • Complete all company training and certification requirements, including boom and forklift certification

What You Bring
R.P. Lumber is seeking a Driver CDL for its Jerseyville, IL location. The role focuses on maintaining a safety culture and delivering prompt, courteous service to customers. The driver must have strong product knowledge of lumber and building materials and follow company processes for deliveries and lumberyard operations. • Valid Class A or Class B CDL license, preferably with air brake and manual transmission endorsements • Possess or be willing to obtain DOT medical certification card, preferably self‑certified as “Non‑Excepted Interstate” • High school diploma or GED, or 6‑12 months related experience/training, or equivalent combination of education and experience • Must be 21 years old or older • High degree of attention and dexterity in vehicle control to prevent damage to materials and equipment • Effective verbal and written communication skills when dealing with vendors, customers, management, and team members • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays • Subject to pre‑employment drug testing, background check, and driver motor vehicle history checks • Position requires sitting, standing, bending, and walking most of the day • Physical ability to bend, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, and lift or move 50‑100 pounds frequently • Must be able to work both indoors and outdoors under adverse weather conditions
