About the Role
The role evaluates radiological conditions in the nuclear plant and implements necessary radiological safety measures for plant workers and the public. • Perform dose‑rate, contamination, and airborne radioactivity surveys. • Provide job coverage for work groups to minimize personnel exposure. • Control access to radioactive material through labeling and posting. • Brief plant personnel and give guidance to prevent unplanned exposure to radioactive material. • Measure and record radiation levels, clean, maintain, and issue respiratory protection equipment, and perform related tasks during assigned shifts (respirator may be required).

What You Bring
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or equivalent with chemistry and mathematics coursework, ability to pass pre‑employment testing, work different shifts, receive unescorted nuclear access, and strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. • High School Diploma or equivalent with chemistry and mathematics courses. • Ability to pass pre‑employment testing. • Ability to work different shifts. • Ability to receive unescorted Nuclear access. • Excellent communication, teamwork, and organizational skills. • Associate’s degree or equivalent in Radiation Protection, Health Physics, or related field. • High school diploma plus 2 years of professional experience in Radiation Protection, Health Physics, or equivalent. • Six years of Navy Nuclear experience, including Engineering Lab Technician qualifications. • Prior Radiation Protection experience at commercial nuclear power plants and passing the North Eastern Fundamentals Exam (NUF) or equivalent.
