About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end load lift attachments to transport waste or recyclable material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. The role includes pick‑up service of containers that may weigh over 1,000 pounds, residential collection in tight neighborhoods, and roll‑off loading of large open‑top containers, all requiring skilled backing maneuvers. Key duties include operating the vehicle in compliance with WM safety policies, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws, performing pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, and completing Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. Drivers must report unsafe situations, incidents, or service interruptions, attend scheduled training, work with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency, communicate customer requests, dump receptacles cleanly, and complete end‑of‑day documentation. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste and recyclables. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Follow WM safety, OSHA, DOT, and all local, state, and federal regulations. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, or service interruptions to management. • Attend required training, briefings, and meetings. • Communicate customer requests and ensure clean disposal sites. • Complete end‑of‑day documentation and assist other drivers as needed.

What You Bring
Required qualifications are a valid CDL Class A or B with an air‑brake endorsement, at least one year of driving experience (or equivalent military driving within the last seven years), a minimum age of 18, and legal eligibility to work in the country. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The position involves physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.
