About the Role
The Craft Foreman leads work groups on active railway property and through construction zones, ensuring contractors clear the work area before train approaches to minimize disruptions to commuter service. • Ensure compliance with railway safety requirements, CROR, and customer-specific track protection procedures. • Provide and verify site‑specific safety instructions for workers, including Safety Watch/Lone Worker and Track Occupancy Permit protocols. • Remain physically present with workers to monitor adherence to protection requirements. • Coordinate with site supervisors or contractor representatives to assess hazards and implement field controls. • Communicate effectively with work groups, train crews, railway personnel, and rail traffic controllers using established radio procedures. • Apply rule knowledge to support safe, on‑time commuter train movement through work zones with minimal delay. • Perform on‑site track protection according to Canadian Rail Operating Rules. • Operate company vehicles responsibly and complete daily maintenance and inspections. • Complete administrative duties such as daily flagging sheets for time entry per PNR Quality Management System. • Assist with railway maintenance and construction tasks as needed. • Read and interpret schedules, railway plans, and specifications. • Work safely in a safety‑sensitive position on live railway corridors, understanding occupational hazards and safety regulations.

What You Bring
• Minimum two years of railway track‑protection experience; CROR certification required; Track Inspection Guidelines certification preferred. • Communicate clearly in English and French, both verbally and in writing. • Proficient with computers, tablets, and related technology. • Hold a valid Ontario Class G driver’s license. • Work outdoors in all weather conditions; stand, walk, climb, balance, lift, and bend on uneven terrain; exposure to loud noise, live track, and high voltage. • Ability to work rotating shifts, independently or as part of a team, maintaining concentration and mental alertness. • Demonstrate strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
