About the Role
• Lead creation and implementation of stakeholder engagement and communications plans and strategies. • Identify and map key stakeholders; conduct research, analysis, and jurisdictional review. • Prioritize engagement activities and make tactical decisions based on project and client requirements. • Collaborate with project teams on best practices and risk communications. • Engage and inform stakeholders, communities, and residents in‑person, virtually, and through written materials. • Develop bilingual themes, core messages, and collateral for diverse audiences. • Draft content for communications, fact sheets, FAQs, exhibit materials, and other deliverables. • Plan, execute, and facilitate public meetings, workshops, open houses, and focus groups both virtually and in‑person. • Create presentations consistent with client brand guidelines. • Maintain detailed tracking of stakeholder communications and feedback. • Manage surveys, focus groups, and other stakeholder feedback mechanisms. • Perform work within agreed objectives, budget, and timescale with minimal supervision. • Exercise sound judgment in client communications and build relationships with key project contacts. • Lead project teams, coach entry‑mid level staff, and may have direct reports. • Conduct quality checks and approve all client deliverables. • Manage client communications and develop relationships with key contacts.

What You Bring
The West Region Strategic Communications Group is seeking a bilingual Senior Community Engagement Specialist to support large, complex infrastructure projects on both sides of the Texas/Mexico border. The role works collaboratively with AECOM’s client and specialist teams and is accountable for leading stakeholder engagement and communications tasks. • Hold a BA/BS degree and at least 6 years of relevant experience. • Fluent in English and Spanish, with experience working with Texas/Mexico Border communities. • 10+ years of professional experience in communications, community engagement, or stakeholder management (preferred). • 6+ years managing stakeholder or communications on large infrastructure programs. • 3+ years experience on large infrastructure projects or programs. • Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships and develop effective communication strategies. • Experience leading small teams (2‑5 people) to implement engagement and communications plans. • Skilled at facilitating bilingual meetings and workshops with stakeholders. • Excellent interpersonal communication interacting with program leaders, client management, stakeholders, and the public. • Experience in government, media, public relations, stakeholder analysis, and facilitation.

Benefits
The position is based in San Antonio, Texas, with a hybrid work model and a compensation range of $85,000‑$130,000 per year. Sponsorship and relocation assistance are not available for this role.
