About the Role

The Instrumentation & Controls EIT/Coordinator supports engineering tasks under the guidance of a Project Engineer or Manager, contributing to design and analysis of power distribution, motor control, lighting, and grounding systems. The role involves collaboration across disciplines, occasional supervision of designers and CAD operators, participation in field reviews, and may require travel to project sites. • Review manufacturing drawings and perform engineering calculations. • Develop design layouts ensuring code compliance and quality standards. • Coordinate designs with other disciplines to meet project schedules and budgets. • Perform power distribution, motor control, lighting, power system analysis, and grounding design work. • Supervise designers and CAD operators on larger projects as needed. • Conduct field reviews and construction observations. • Utilize Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) in design tasks. • Travel to project sites as required.

What You Bring

• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering or a related field. • Demonstrate self‑motivation and ability to work independently and within project teams. • Knowledge of Allen‑Bradley, Modicon, Wonderware and/or Interlution control systems. • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. • Exhibit commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned, inclusive culture. • Preferred: experience with architectural/engineering consulting firms. • Preferred: GPA of 3.0 or higher. • Preferred: interest or experience in sustainable design / LEED. • Preferred: EIT certification (or plan to obtain it for career progression).
