About the Role
The engineer will determine methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data on substation components and equipment specifications to develop procurement packages and ensure compliance with IEEE, NESC, and NERC standards. Responsibilities include reviewing third‑party design documents, creating single‑line, three‑line, wiring diagrams, substation layouts, grounding grids, and lightning protection designs, and incorporating future‑ready techniques such as equipment sizing, AC/DC panel design, and conduit and trenching strategies. • Collect and analyze substation component data for procurement and design. • Review third‑party design documents, procurement lists, and project plans. • Develop single‑line, three‑line, wiring diagrams, substation layouts, grounding grids, and lightning protection. • Apply future‑ready techniques, equipment sizing, AC/DC panel, conduit, and trenching designs. • Support senior engineers with component research and field equipment recommendations. • Exercise ethical decision‑making regarding company funds and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct. • Provide design deliverables for large capital projects (5–7 years experience). • Comply with workplace safety and WSP health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies.

What You Bring
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, 5 to 7 years of experience delivering design for large capital projects, and an Engineer in Training certification (PE preferred). Candidates must be U.S. citizens, able to obtain a Secret or Top Secret clearance, and have experience with operations and project controls for reporting and proposal development. Preferred qualifications include an active Secret or Top Secret clearance and a proven track record of upholding workplace safety while adhering to WSP’s health, safety, drug/alcohol, and harassment policies. • Hold Engineer in Training certification; Professional Engineer preferred. • Maintain U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain Secret/Top Secret clearance.
