About the Role

The Mechanical Designer / Junior Mechanical Engineer role sits within our Property & Buildings team, supporting the planning, design, and delivery of building mechanical systems and energy‑infrastructure projects. You will gain hands‑on experience with HVAC systems, central plants, and district energy under the mentorship of senior engineers. In this position you will create mechanical drawings, develop equipment layouts, perform basic calculations, and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to integrate mechanical systems into overall building designs. You will also assist with shop drawing reviews, RFIs, and construction‑phase documentation, supporting both central plant and district energy projects. • Prepare HVAC and building system drawings and 3D models using Revit and AutoCAD. • Develop equipment layouts, piping and ductwork schematics, schedules, and detail drawings. • Perform basic engineering calculations and assist in equipment selection. • Coordinate mechanical designs with architectural, structural, electrical, and civil teams. • Review shop drawings, respond to RFIs, and provide construction‑phase documentation. • Support central plant and district energy projects with system layouts and coordinated documentation. • Incorporate design markups and changes efficiently; travel to local sites as needed.

What You Bring

We are looking for candidates with a Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma, 1–3 years of consulting or mechanical design experience, and proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD. A solid understanding of HVAC systems, building services, and relevant codes, combined with strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn, is essential. • Mechanical Engineering degree or diploma from an accredited program. • 1–3 years of consulting or mechanical design experience (co‑op, internship, or full‑time). • Proficient in Revit and AutoCAD; BIM coordination knowledge is a plus. • Strong foundation in HVAC systems, building services, and applicable codes/standards. • Detail‑oriented, organized, and able to work within defined scopes, schedules, and budgets.
