About the Role

In this role you will receive service calls from the Service Resource Center, diagnose and repair electronic fire alarm and related building systems, follow troubleshooting procedures, interpret blueprints and manuals, and ensure customer satisfaction through clear communication and proper documentation. You will also participate in an on‑call rotation, mentor teammates, and provide solutions that improve building efficiency. The position requires troubleshooting and repairing installed systems, programming fire alarm, security and access‑control panels, and managing technical resources efficiently. You will complete required paperwork promptly, handle occasional after‑hours work, present recommendations and quotes, and help identify upselling opportunities. • Receive and respond to service calls, diagnose equipment malfunctions, and perform repairs on fire alarm and building systems. • Follow troubleshooting procedures, reference technical manuals, and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and specifications. • Complete service acknowledgments, obtain customer signatures, and document tasks using smartphones or laptops. • Participate in scheduled on‑call rotation and mentor junior service team members. • Program fire alarm, security, and access‑control panels; troubleshoot low‑voltage circuits and perform system testing. • Provide recommendations, prepare quotes, and identify upselling opportunities to improve facility efficiency. • Maintain truck inventory and adhere to safety guidelines at all times. • Meet physical demands such as lifting up to 70 lb, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.

What You Bring

We seek candidates with at least three years of experience in fire alarm, access control, security or communications systems, the ability to read schematics, solid computer skills, and the physical capacity to lift 50‑70 lb and work at heights. A valid driver’s license, strong customer service, organizational skills, and a positive attitude are essential; NICET II or related technical training is preferred. The hourly range is $23.56‑$35.10, and Johnson Controls is an equal‑opportunity employer. • Hold at least 3 years of relevant experience and possess a valid driver’s license; NICET II certification preferred.
