About the Role
• Prepare engineering plans such as layout and materials plans, grading and drainage plans, soil erosion and sediment control plans, and detail sheets; • Apply and document quality assurance and quality control procedures. • Prepare well-written technical design reports, compliance reports and permit application packages; • Advance career knowledge by attending continuing educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, participating in professional societies, etc. • Execute field work and contractor oversight to support the collection of environmental data and/or perform construction quality assurance. • Prepare permit and construction-level civil/site design packages to support a wide variety of projects that comply with applicable state and federal regulations; • Manage and delegate tasks to others, prepare and manage budgets, schedules, and invoicing. • Design stormwater management systems adapted for specific development sectors in accordance with applicable local, state, or federal regulations; • Prepare construction and industrial Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans. • Prepare plan and profile drawings related to submarine transmission cable projects; • Work with project managers, engineering staff, permitting specialists and drafters to: • Conduct hydrologic analyses to support planning, development, permitting and design of stormwater management systems; • Present project designs and applications at public meeting with various local, state and federal organizations; and • Work directly with clients professionally and display service-oriented attitude.

What You Bring
• 5-7 years’ experience as a Civil Engineer with a consulting firm; • Apply strong AutoCAD Civil 3D, technical writing, data management, organizational, and communication skills to projects and proposals. • Ability to make decisions and perform as an independent thinker and leader, but also collaborate with project team personnel. • Experience with the development and implementation of technical plans, designs, and specifications; • Experience independently analyzing and interpreting data regarding site uses and topography to develop stormwater management plans and site-specific best management practices; • Ability and interest in eventually obtaining Professional Engineers license within two to three years; • Experience in performing engineer’s opinion of probable cost estimates; • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification required; • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software; • Travel (typically 10 to 15%) throughout the US, primarily MA or RI • Experience with a variety of technical stormwater calculations such as drainage pipe sizing, outlet protection sizing, temporary and permanent stormwater best management practice sizing, and water quality calculations; • Experience developing Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasures (SPCC) Plans or Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP); and • Proficiency with HydroCAD stormwater modeling/hydrology software; • Bachelor's degree in engineering (civil or environmental preferred); • Experience performing construction monitoring and oversight. • Experience preparing written technical reports; and • GIS software experience; • Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D surfaces, alignments, assemblies, corridors, grading tools, profiles, plan production tools, coordinate systems and earthwork volume calculations; • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. • A strong understanding of local, state, and federal level requirements for a variety of development types including State (MA or RI) stormwater permitting and town/city site plan review applications;
