About the Role

The Safety Manager partners with plant leadership to achieve the primary goal of employee safety and ensures compliance with health and safety regulations and Forte’s corporate policies. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Corporate Safety Manager, the role requires strong cooperation with plant leadership teams. The role executes Forte’s safety programs, designs initiatives to reduce accidents and health hazards, and leads injury investigations. It drives performance through metrics and analytics, conducts audits and training, and ensures compliance with regulatory and company standards. • Execute Forte’s safety programs. • Design and direct initiatives to reduce accidents, illnesses, and long‑term health hazards. • Identify, scope, and lead safety improvement projects. • Communicate and lead safety activities across the plant. • Build effective relationships with safety committees, managers, and employees. • Lead injury and incident investigations, root‑cause analysis, and corrective actions. • Drive safety performance using metrics, dashboards, and analytics. • Champion proactive practices such as near‑miss reporting and behavioral observations. • Conduct regular audits, inspections, and safety assessments; develop improvement plans. • Schedule and deliver safety training for all employees. • Ensure compliance with governmental and company health, safety, and environmental regulations.

What You Bring

A BS/BA in Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, Engineering, Management or equivalent experience is required, along with at least five years in a manufacturing environment, preferably multi‑site and union. The candidate must demonstrate success in leading safety initiatives, data‑driven performance improvement, and possess strong communication, computer, and regulatory knowledge. • BS/BA in Safety Engineering, Occupational Safety/Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Health, Engineering, Management or equivalent. • Minimum 5 years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment; multi‑site and union experience preferred. • Proven ability to lead safety initiatives, improve safety culture, and lower incident rates. • Experience navigating union environments and participating in safety committees. • Skilled in using data analytics, KPIs, and dashboards to drive safety performance. • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and influencing skills. • Proficient with Microsoft Office and managing reports, dashboards, and training documentation. • Knowledge of workers’ compensation, OSHA, NFPA, NEC, ACGIH, and related regulations. • Familiarity with Lean Management Operating Systems.
