About the Role

The role involves executing maintenance requests by diagnosing and repairing issues across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, masonry, painting, water features, and waste management to maintain community conditions and ensure timely service. Technicians also prepare vacant apartments for rent, perform turnkey work, conduct preventative maintenance, assist with interior and exterior painting, and uphold a safety culture by following AvalonBay policies and reporting unsafe conditions. • Diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, appliances, carpentry, emergency systems, flooring, masonry, painting, water features, and waste management issues. • Complete service requests promptly and ensure vacant units are rent‑ready. • Perform turnkey projects, preventative maintenance, and interior/exterior painting. • Follow safety policies, conduct hot‑work (brazing, soldering, welding) within standards, and report unsafe conditions. • Maintain on‑call rotation and provide courteous service to residents and staff.

What You Bring

Candidates should have 2–3 years of maintenance experience covering HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general repairs, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work an on‑call rotation while delivering strong customer service to residents and staff. Additional requirements include familiarity with key control, turnover, and emergency policies, knowledge of chemical safety and PPE, basic understanding of emergency systems, and proficiency with paint types and tools. • Possess 2‑3 years of maintenance experience and a valid driver’s license. • Understand key control, turnover, emergency policies, chemical safety, PPE usage, and basic emergency system operations. • Demonstrate knowledge of paint types and tools.
