About the Role
The technician will service, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul engines, propulsion systems, and electronic systems, adhering to safety guidelines and the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct. Responsibilities include on‑site work, maintaining project timelines, requesting parts, inspecting components, documenting activities, commissioning engines, instrumenting propulsion systems, and contributing to service manuals. • Service, troubleshoot, repair, and overhaul marine engines, propulsion and electronic systems. • Perform on‑site work, maintain project timelines, and prioritize tasks. • Request parts and tools, source local vendors, and inspect components for conformance. • Conduct field inspections, write reports, and maintain engine, vessel and equipment logbooks. • Prepare work estimates, commission and operate engines, and record test data. • Collaborate with product groups on design development and update service manuals and bulletins. • Instruct customers on safe engine operation, shutdown procedures, and troubleshooting. • Mentor and provide technical assistance to service personnel. • Analyze technical data, stay current with technology, and uphold safety and compliance standards.

What You Bring
Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, hold a mechanical trade degree or associate’s degree, and have at least three years (or seven years) of field service experience. The role requires 70‑100% travel, ability to lift 20‑60 lb, and proficiency with hand and measurement tools. • Travel 70‑100% on short‑notice domestic and international assignments. • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; two‑year mechanical trade school or Associate’s degree required. • Minimum 3 years (or 7 years) field service, mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience. • Ability to lift, push, pull 20‑60 lb and work in confined marine engine spaces. • Strong experience testing diesel engine components and operating engine controls. • Proficiency with mechanical/electrical hand tools, measurement equipment, and precision gauges. • Knowledge of internal combustion engines, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, and fluid properties. • Ability to operate machine‑shop equipment, CAD software, forklift trucks, and rig loads up to 1 ton. • Excellent oral and written communication, customer service, and problem‑solving skills.
