About the Role
The Dental Assistant reports to the Dentist and works under their supervision while performing fieldwork. The role may be performed in a Field Health Unit, a small medical/trauma hospital, or a large medical/trauma hospital, assisting in patient examinations and treatment under the direction of a dentist or physician. • Prepare treatment rooms, sterilize instruments, and take dental radiographs. • Update patient dental records and set up instruments/materials for each case. • Assist the dentist by handing instruments, managing suction, and keeping the oral cavity dry. • Instruct patients on postoperative care and general oral health. • Process impressions, restorations, and apply topical anesthetics or preventive agents as directed. • Remove sutures, excess cement, and place dental dams when needed. • Order and maintain inventory of dental supplies. • Perform clerical tasks related to dental activities and be available for on‑call emergency duties.

What You Bring
Work involves prolonged sitting and standing in a typical interior/office environment, with travel to Kwajalein by air. The position requires confirmation of medical and dental fitness according to Acuity Medical Readiness Guidelines and a favorable security background check and drug screen. • Hold at least 2 years Dental Assistant experience with DANB certification or state license. • Complete an approved Dental Assistant program and possess current CPR certification. • Maintain a valid U.S. driver’s license, passport (minimum six months validity), and pass security background check and CNACI investigation. • Meet medical and dental fitness standards per Acuity Medical Readiness guidelines.
