Manager, EH&S Generalist

About the Role

The EHS Manager will provide strategic leadership for the Otis Southwest area, supporting environmental and safety compliance. Working closely with field operations, the manager will identify, anticipate and assess hazards while implementing Otis EH&S policies, management systems, and regulatory requirements. The role also focuses on reducing incident impact and workers’ compensation costs. Key duties include reinforcing the importance of EHS, leading by example to enhance the safety culture, and integrating EHS performance into branch operations. The manager will coordinate procedures for hazardous, regulated and solid waste, manage safety performance metrics and documentation, and lead branch safety audits and incident investigations. Additional responsibilities involve training line management, supporting communication programs, and traveling 50‑75% to regional sites. • Lead and model a strong safety culture across the branch. • Partner with operations to embed EHS performance into daily activities. • Direct hazard identification, risk assessment, and corrective action implementation. • Oversee hazardous waste handling, regulatory compliance, and documentation. • Conduct branch safety audits and incident investigations. • Provide training and coaching for line management on EH&S risks. • Travel 50‑75% to regional locations to support field operations.

What You Bring

Applicants should hold a BA/BS degree in Health & Safety, Environmental Management or a related field, or possess equivalent experience, with elevator field operations experience acceptable in place of a degree. Preferred candidates have an MS or MBA with EH&S experience. A minimum of five years of EH&S experience—or seven years of elevator technical field experience—in a service or operations environment is required, along with strong leadership, strategic thinking, and computer skills. • Hold a BA/BS in Health & Safety or Environmental Management (or equivalent experience). • Minimum 5 years EH&S experience or 7 years elevator field technical experience. • Strong leadership, strategic planning, and communication skills. • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
