About the Role
Position Summary: The Class A Lineman Transmission role involves construction, maintenance, and repair of electrical transmission systems, working at various locations and possibly traveling out of state based on customer demands. Essential functions include safe performance of new construction, maintenance, and repair on energized and de‑energized lines, leading crews in the foreman's absence, stringing overhead wire, setting poles and anchors, troubleshooting transmission problems, and handling high‑voltage systems with appropriate protective measures. • Perform new construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de‑energized transmission lines safely. • Lead crew members in the foreman's absence. • String overhead wire and set poles/anchors. • Troubleshoot transmission system problems. • Operate hot‑stick equipment and conduct hot‑line work. • Read and interpret blueprints and job prints. • Sag wire, phase lines using phasing sticks, and execute dead‑ending operations. • Climb poles, towers, and structures; perform pole/tower climbing and rigging. • Operate digger derrick and handle heavy lifting tasks. • Conduct pre‑job and tailgate briefings and follow flag/tag procedures. • Perform basic bucket rescue/escape and reconductoring tasks. • Inspect and maintain rubber goods, cover, and PPE. • Maintain company vehicles, tools, and equipment in good condition. • Travel long distances on short notice and work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.

What You Bring
The lineman must maintain company vehicles, equipment, and tools, work outdoors in inclement weather, perform rigorous physical labor, and possess knowledge of primary/secondary voltage, hot‑stick work, blueprint reading, wire sagging, pole/tower climbing, heavy lifting, rigging, grounding, and rescue procedures. Minimum requirements are at least five years of recent field experience, effective English communication, ability to obtain a CDL permit within 60 days (preferred), willingness to travel long distances on short notice, lift over 50 lb, and work overtime, weekends, or holidays as needed. Physical demands involve frequent standing, walking, talking, hearing, and manual handling; the work environment may expose the employee to fumes, dust, gases, and poor ventilation, but generally lacks adverse conditions typical of office settings. • Minimum five years recent field experience as a transmission lineman. • Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English. • Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver’s License permit within 60 days (CDL preferred). • Capability to lift over 50 lb and perform rigorous physical labor. • Willingness to work outdoors in all weather conditions and at heights or confined spaces.
