About the Role
The Bridge Inspector EIT/Coordinator joins the National Infrastructure Inspection Team to conduct local and national bridge inspections, prepare reports and occasional design work, and assist the lead inspector in compliance with National Bridge Inspection Standards. • Participate in local and national bridge inspections, develop reports, and perform structural load rating calculations. • Support bridge design and other disciplines by applying structural engineering and detailing techniques. • Collaborate with bridge design, roadway, hydraulic, stream restoration, planning, and traffic control teams during inspection downtime. • Meet physical requirements for field inspections of bridges, culverts, tunnels, signage, hydraulic structures, and traffic signal poles.

What You Bring
The role requires a valid driver’s license, ability to travel for multi‑night assignments, and physical capability to perform field inspections of bridges, culverts, tunnels, signage and hydraulic structures, including work at heights, in confined spaces and in varied environmental conditions. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, be proficient with MS Office, MathCAD, AutoCAD and related design software, and possess strong communication and teamwork skills, while embracing HDR’s collaborative, employee‑owned culture. • Work collaboratively and independently, acquiring engineering knowledge and experience. • Hold an MS in Civil/Structural Engineering (preferred) and obtain EIT certification promptly. • Have at least 2 years of bridge/structural inspection and design experience. • Complete NHI 130055 Safety Inspection of In‑Service Bridges training (preferred). • Possess a valid driver’s license and be able to travel for multiple night stays weekly. • Work independently and within multidisciplinary teams, demonstrating strong communication skills. • Be prepared for environmental hazards such as extreme temperatures, water, heights, and wildlife. • Local Colorado candidates are preferred. • Bachelor’s degree in engineering. • Proficiency with MS Office, MathCAD, AutoCAD, LARSA, and prestressed concrete design tools. • Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu and engineering software (LEAP Bridge Enterprise, FB‑MultiPier, LPile, AASHTOWare BrR, midas Civil, CSiBridge, RM Bridge, spColumn, STLBridgeLRFD, STLBridge). • Experience with Bentley OpenBridge Modeler and/or Autodesk InfraWorks and Civil 3D. • Strong computer skills for structural layout and design. • Good communication and teamwork abilities.
