About the Role
The Resident Engineer (Structures/Bridges) position in Abu Dhabi, UAE, involves planning, scheduling, supervising, and exercising administrative authority over all field engineering work. You will serve as the Engineer of record during construction, maintain direct communication with the contractor, and ensure compliance with contract specifications. The role also includes leading the construction supervision team, coordinating with Parsons’ design team and external authorities, and promoting a culture of safety on site. • Serve as Engineer of record during construction, with delegated authority from the Employer. • Maintain direct communication with the Contractor and ensure all activities comply with the contract. • Monitor and inspect construction work, issuing instructions to correct non‑compliant activities, materials, or equipment. • Lead and support the construction supervision team, including site engineers, inspectors, and surveyors. • Advise the Employer on variation orders, contractor claims, and financial instructions. • Recommend contractor payments and provide cost and contractual assessments. • Provide guidance on roadworks, utility works, traffic diversions, and related infrastructure tasks. • Review and approve shop drawings, as‑built drawings, method statements, material submittals, and RFIs. • Maintain daily diaries and document progress and issues on‑site. • Prepare progress and performance reports, tracking work against the project schedule. • Coordinate with Parsons’ design team, the contractor, and external authorities to resolve project issues. • Monitor implementation of safety procedures and report incidents or near‑misses. • Oversee project HSE compliance and promote a safety culture. • Lead site meetings and ensure timely distribution of project documents and correspondence. • Support contract administration and perform other relevant tasks as required.

What You Bring
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from a recognized institution. • Minimum 15 years of post‑graduate experience in supervision and construction management of major infrastructure/bridge projects, preferably in the Gulf region. • Chartered Engineer or Professional Engineer (PE) registration or equivalent professional accreditation. • Strong emphasis on Quality Assurance, specifications, and statistical quality control. • Ability to review technical submittals, laboratory test results, and ensure compliance with project specifications. • Proficiency in engineering and construction computer applications for record‑keeping and report generation.
