About the Role

Job Description Title: Power Systems CAD Engineer. Pioneer the next generation of innovation with Rolls‑Royce, an international company renowned for brilliance. The role offers development of skills to the highest levels in a global environment. Key Accountabilities encompass developing block diagrams, single‑line diagrams, ladder, IO, logic, network diagrams, cable schedules, 2‑D and 3‑D layouts, and P&IDs that meet client objectives. The role serves as the design expert for lead engineers and sales managers, owns the North American CAD knowledge base for gas‑fueled energy solutions, microgrids and BESS, and formalizes wiring interconnection designs between MTU hardware and balance‑of‑plant systems worldwide. Additional duties include establishing pen tables, plot style standards, managing a standardized CAD symbol library, advising on optimal design strategies, editing existing designs, and adhering to engineering, ERP, quality, HSE, and Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct standards. • Create block diagrams, single‑line, ladder, IO, logic, network diagrams, cable schedules, 2‑D/3‑D layouts, and P&IDs for power system projects. • Serve as design expert supporting lead engineers and sales managers on new opportunities. • Manage North American CAD design knowledge base for gas‑fueled gensets, microgrids, and BESS projects. • Define wiring interconnection designs between MTU hardware and balance‑of‑plant systems globally. • Establish pen tables, plot style standards, and maintain a standardized CAD symbol library. • Ensure compliance with ERP, quality, HSE procedures and Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct.

What You Bring

Basic Requirements: Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. A bachelor’s degree in CAD Design, Mechanical Engineering, or Electrical Engineering is required together with at least three years of relevant design or electrical/electronic engineering experience (or seven years of experience). Preferred Qualifications: Strong knowledge of CAD tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, BricsCAD, Creo or SOLIDWORKS, and of electrical power systems using gas and diesel gensets for continuous, standby and mission‑critical applications. Candidates should possess strong project management, organizational, communication and entrepreneurial skills, familiarity with standard electrical/mechanical symbols, NEC (NFPA 70), and the ability to translate concepts into formal designs. Additional experience with SAP/JDE, Bluebeam, machining/fabrication, service/test/commissioning, NFPA codes, OSHA certifications, and PTC Windchill is a plus. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in CAD, mechanical or electrical engineering with at least 3 (or 7) years relevant experience. • Proficient with AutoCAD, Revit, BricsCAD, Creo or SOLIDWORKS and familiar with NEC and related codes. • Demonstrate strong project management, communication, organizational and entrepreneurial skills. • Willing to travel up to 20% and possess OSHA10/30 certification and familiarity with NFPA standards.
