About the Role

The role provides high‑level technical assistance for multi‑site due diligence, investigation, remediation, permitting, and construction of infrastructure across public and private sectors. Responsibilities include research, concept development, planning, and the design of facilities such as roads, bridges, water supply, and sewage systems, while ensuring compliance with industry standards for safety and functionality. The engineer will lead data collection and analysis from sites, surveys, GIS, and geotechnical sources to inform project development. They will guide the design and construction phases, develop specifications and cost estimates, and coordinate with owners, sub‑consultants, and clients to deliver high‑quality, future‑ready civil engineering solutions. • Collect and analyze site data, surveys, GIS, hydrologic and geotechnical information for project development. • Apply civil engineering techniques to improve infrastructure through concept, preliminary, final design, procurement, construction, and operation phases. • Conduct research and inspections of existing and proposed site conditions to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and permits. • Develop construction plans, specifications, cost estimates, safety and phasing plans, and coordinate with owners, sub‑consultants, and clients. • Manage design and construction of infrastructure projects, including grading, drainage, pavement design, rehabilitation, and reconstruction. • Integrate advanced technologies, monitoring devices, and modeling techniques to deliver future‑ready civil engineering solutions. • Oversee cross‑functional teams, monitor budgets, schedules, material quantities, permits, and regulatory compliance across multiple projects. • Review and approve infrastructure design plans, ensuring data integrity and adherence to applicable codes and regulations. • Prepare visualizations, charts, reports, sketches, and technical drawings to convey complex analyses. • Deliver technical reports and presentations recommending solutions for engineering and construction challenges. • Analyze field investigation data and develop action plans for risk mitigation. • Create and implement site Health and Safety Plans (HASPs). • Liaise professionally with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients. • Collaborate on federally, state, and locally funded improvement projects and business development opportunities. • Stay current with civil engineering practices and uphold ethical decision‑making per WSP policies.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (or related field), a professional Engineer license, and 7–10 years of post‑degree civil design experience. They should possess deep knowledge of infrastructure design, applicable codes and regulations, and be proficient with industry software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and ArcGIS. Unsolicited resumes from third‑party agencies will not be accepted. • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a closely related discipline. • 7–10 years of post‑degree civil engineering and design experience. • Extensive knowledge of infrastructure design, planning, and construction management. • In‑depth familiarity with civil construction laws, codes, regulations, and compliance practices. • Strong ability to perform technical calculations, plan reviews, and regulatory applications. • Proven capability to conduct site inspections and investigations. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for both technical and non‑technical audiences. • Demonstrated self‑leadership, attention to detail, multitasking, and prioritization in dynamic settings. • Ability to work independently, mentor junior staff, and maintain QA/QC standards. • Advanced proficiency with design software (MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, ArcGIS, InRoads, GeoPak, GeoSlope, ANSYS, STADD, HEC‑RAS, HEC‑HMS) and technical writing. • Strong critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities. • Experience directing subcontractors to complete tasks safely and efficiently. • Flexibility to work project‑specific schedules and occasional travel. • Master’s degree in Engineering (preferred). • 40‑hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification (preferred). • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training (preferred).
