About the Role

All drivers must operate vehicles in accordance with WM Safety and Life Critical Rules, OSHA, DOT, and applicable laws, conduct pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, and document checks via DVIR reports. They report unsafe situations, incidents, and service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch, and attend required training and briefings. Drivers also work with management to improve route efficiencies, communicate customer requests, ensure clean dump sites, complete end‑of‑day documentation, and assist colleagues as needed. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments safely and in compliance with WM, OSHA, DOT, and all legal requirements. • Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR reports. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, and service interruptions promptly to management or dispatch. • Attend required trainings, briefings, and meetings; collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency. • Communicate customer requests and ensure dump sites are left clean and free of debris. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day paperwork, and assist fellow drivers as needed. • Meet physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, and handling heavy containers.

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers that can weigh over 1,000 pounds. Commercial drivers provide pick‑up service for containers, residential drivers collect household waste, and roll‑off drivers load and move large open‑top containers, all while navigating congested roadways, alleys, and tight spaces. Skilled backing maneuvers are critical for each role. Candidates need at least one year of experience operating a vehicle that requires a CDL or equivalent military driving experience within the past seven years, be a minimum of 18 years old, and possess a valid CDL Class A or B with an air‑brake endorsement. A high school diploma or GED is preferred, and applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States or Canada. The role involves physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling heavy containers, and more. • Hold a valid CDL Class A or B with air‑brake endorsement (or 1 year equivalent military driving experience) and be at least 18 years old. • Possess a high school diploma or GED (preferred) and be legally authorized to work in the United States or Canada.
