About the Role

In this position you will lead process design for advanced water and wastewater treatment projects, emphasizing water reuse and membrane‑based systems. You will direct and supervise complex studies, define technical tasks for team members, and provide technical oversight, review, and approval of work. Evaluating project decisions for sound design and impacts on scope, schedule, and budget will be essential. You will stay current on regulations and technological advances, coordinate with clients, project teams, and regulators, and mentor engineers and technical staff to ensure continuity and quality. Supporting proposals and technical approaches as a recognized leader in advanced treatment is also part of the role. • Design and lead advanced water and wastewater treatment projects focused on reuse and membrane systems. • Supervise complex studies, define technical tasks, and provide oversight and approval of work. • Evaluate design decisions for scope, schedule, budget, and overall impact. • Stay updated on regulations and technological advances in advanced treatment. • Coordinate with clients, project teams, and regulators to ensure project success. • Mentor and supervise engineering and technical staff to maintain quality. • Support proposals and technical approaches as an advanced treatment expert. • Provide hybrid work schedule with up to 40 % remote and alternate Friday off.

What You Bring

The successful candidate must hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and maintain Professional Engineer (PE) registration. At least eight years of engineering experience, including independent decision‑making on complex problems, is required. The individual should be recognized as a technical expert capable of extending engineering theories and leading technical work while maintaining quality across complex deliverables. Preferred experience includes leading advanced treatment and water reuse process design, particularly with membrane‑based systems, and coordinating with regulatory agencies. Candidates with publications in technical periodicals, active participation in professional organizations, and continued education are highly valued. Experience serving as a project manager or technical leader on large, complex projects is also desirable. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering and a Professional Engineer (PE) license. • Possess 8+ years of engineering experience with independent decision‑making authority. • Recognized technical expert in advanced engineering techniques and theory extension. • Ability to lead technical work and ensure quality across complex deliverables. • Preferred: experience leading membrane‑based water reuse design and regulatory coordination. • Preferred: publications, professional organization involvement, and continued education. • Preferred: project manager or technical leader on large, complex projects.
