About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities once legal load capacity is reached. Commercial drivers provide pick‑up service for containers that can weigh over 1,000 pounds, maneuvering them in high‑traffic roads, driveways, alleys, and lot environments. Residential drivers collect household waste while safely navigating residential streets, and roll‑off drivers load and transport large open‑top or compactor containers, often working in tight overhead spaces on industrial routes. All drivers must operate vehicles in compliance with WM safety rules, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws, and complete pre‑ and post‑trip inspections documented on a Driver Vehicle Inspection Report. They report unsafe conditions, incidents, and service interruptions to the Operations Manager or Dispatch, attend required training, and collaborate with management to improve route efficiency. Drivers also communicate customer requests, ensure receptacles are emptied and sites left clean, follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day paperwork, and assist fellow drivers as needed. • Operate vehicles safely according to WM safety policies, OSHA, DOT, and all laws. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, and service interruptions to management. • Attend scheduled training, briefings, and meetings. • Collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency. • Communicate customer requests and ensure clean, debris‑free site after service. • Follow assigned routes and complete end‑of‑day paperwork. • Assist other drivers to meet customer needs. • Meet physical demands such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, and hearing.

What You Bring
Candidates need at least one year of experience operating a CDL‑required vehicle or equivalent military driving within the past seven years, be at least 18 years old, and be legally eligible to work in the United States. A Class A or Class B Commercial Driver License with an air‑brake endorsement is required; a high school diploma or GED is preferred. • Possess at least 1 year of CDL‑required driving experience or equivalent military driving. • Hold a Class A or Class B CDL with air‑brake endorsement; high school diploma or GED preferred.
