About the Role

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with various lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclable containers that can exceed 1,000 pounds. Responsibilities differ by role: residential drivers collect household waste, roll‑off drivers handle large open‑top containers, and all drivers must execute skilled backing maneuvers in congested settings. Key duties include adhering to safety and DOT regulations, completing pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, reporting unsafe conditions or incidents, communicating customer requests, dumping containers while keeping sites clean, following assigned routes, and providing end‑of‑day documentation. • Operate vehicle in compliance with WM Safety, OSHA, DOT, and all applicable laws. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip inspections and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (DVIR). • Report unsafe situations, incidents, accidents, or property damage to Operations Manager or Dispatch immediately. • Notify manager of service interruptions such as closed streets, heavy receptacles, or safety hazards. • Communicate customer requests to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Dump receptacles and leave the customer's location clean and free of debris. • Follow assigned routes and complete end‑of‑day documentation and check‑out procedures. • Assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

What You Bring

Applicants must have at least one year of experience operating a CDL‑required vehicle or recent equivalent military driving, be 18 or older, legally authorized to work, and possess a Class A or B CDL with an air‑brake endorsement; a high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role demands physical activities such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling objects, sitting, talking, and hearing. Candidates may need a REAL ID or TSA‑approved alternative for travel related to the position and must be willing to obtain one if necessary. • Required: Minimum one year operating a CDL‑required vehicle or equivalent military driving within the last seven years. • Must be at least 18 years old and legally eligible to work in the country of employment. • Hold a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver License with an air‑brake endorsement. • Preferred: High school diploma or GED. • Physical tasks include standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing.
