About the Role
The specialist will join the Environmental Planning and Permitting department to conduct siting and routing studies for linear projects such as transmission lines, substations, and oil and gas pipelines. The role demands GIS expertise, technical writing, data analysis, and collaboration within an interdisciplinary team to develop routing alternatives and assess environmental impacts. • Conduct and lead siting and routing studies using geodatabase and ArcGIS/ArcPro platforms. • Develop quantitative and qualitative outputs, mapping packages, technical reports, and environmental impact assessments. • Perform desktop environmental data inventory, review, routing and siting analysis, and impact assessments. • Lead client meetings, site walkdowns, and prepare for public meetings and utility commission filings. • Review and ensure quality of work completed by staff; collaborate to meet client‑driven deadlines. • Assist senior project managers with business development, proposals, and client development.

What You Bring
We are seeking an experienced Transmission Siting and Routing Specialist for our Mid‑Atlantic offices, including Greater Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, or Arlington/DC Metro, with hybrid/teleworking options under AECOM’s Freedom to Grow initiative. • Work independently or as a technical specialist within larger project teams. • Minimum: BA/BS in Environmental Science, Planning, GIS or related field plus 6 years experience (or equivalent). • Minimum: Demonstrated siting and routing experience; US citizenship; valid driver’s license and pass motor‑vehicle records review. • Preferred: 5‑10 years direct siting/routing development, technical writing, data analysis, and ESRI GIS experience for transmission projects. • Preferred: Experience in the Mid‑Atlantic region and in‑depth knowledge of utility siting, routing processes, and regulations. • Preferred: Proven technical writing for siting and routing reports and strong self‑motivation and leadership in a fast‑paced consulting environment.

Benefits
The position may require extended hours, evenings, and overnight travel; relocation and sponsorship are not available. Compensation ranges from $86,000 to $135,000 annually, and the role is based in Conshohocken, PA.
