About the Role

The Document Control Engineer manages and updates all project documentation, tracks and closes pending shop drawings, WIRs, MIRs, RFIs, and material submittals, and coordinates with discipline engineers to ensure timely review and closure of submissions. The role also monitors workflows, prepares weekly status reports, and provides early warnings on bottlenecks and recurring contractor issues. • Manage and update all project documentation through Aconex and internal systems. • Track, follow up, and close pending shop drawings, WIRs, MIRs, RFIs, and material submittals. • Coordinate with discipline engineers to ensure timely review and closure of submissions. • Proactively follow up with contractors on overdue or incorrect submissions. • Log, code, and distribute all incoming and outgoing documents correctly. • Maintain accurate registers for submittals, inspections, drawings, and correspondence. • Monitor document workflows and escalate delays to relevant engineers and the PM. • Prepare weekly status reports for the site team on open and closed submissions. • Archive all final approved documents properly for handover. • Provide early warnings on bottlenecks, recurring contractor issues, and overdue actions. • Coordinate with the contractor’s DC to resolve mismatches, missing files, and workflow errors. • Ensure adherence to AECOM and client standards for document control and quality. • Assist the site team in preparing compliance evidence for audits and reporting.
