About the Role

The senior engineer will drive mechanical design efforts, ensure compliance with standards, and support project delivery through collaboration and client interaction, all while adhering to schedule and budget constraints. • Lead mechanical design packages on multidisciplinary water and dam projects. • Develop and validate mechanical design inputs using standards and asset owner specifications. • Perform primary design tasks and conduct hydraulic analyses to ensure optimal system performance. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated engineering solutions. • Mentor junior engineers and guide best practices in mechanical design. • Engage with clients and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver results. • Manage work within agreed budget and schedule with minimal supervision.

What You Bring

We are hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer with deep experience in water systems, including pump stations, valves, piping design, hydraulics, and dam engineering, to work on high‑profile projects in the Christchurch area. We seek candidates with an engineering degree and extensive experience in water‑related mechanical systems, complemented by strong technical, software, and communication skills. • Hold a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. • Possess 10+ years of experience in mechanical engineering for water systems. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of pump station, piping, valve, and hydraulic design; dam engineering experience is a plus. • Proficient in engineering software such as AutoCAD and Revit. • Exhibit excellent communication and interpersonal skills; chartered engineer registration preferred.
