About the Role

The Operations Manager will lead the delivery and growth of the Passive Fire Protection (PFP) division, ensuring safe, compliant, and profitable execution of fire stopping, fire doors, compartmentation remediation, intumescent coatings, cavity barriers and related works while scaling operational capacity and strengthening client relationships. • Plan, resource and deliver multiple PFP projects on time, within budget and to specification. • Lead, coach and develop project managers, supervisors and delivery teams. • Manage labour scheduling, supply chain coordination, site access, sequencing and logistics. • Ensure robust RAMS, permits, toolbox talks, site audits and champion a safety‑first culture. • Implement and maintain business processes, installation records, evidence capture and O&M documentation. • Uphold compliance with Building Regulations, relevant legislation and manufacturer guidance. • Oversee third‑party accreditation schemes, competence management and audit records. • Drive quality inspections, door surveys, fire‑stopping management and photographic traceability. • Liaise with manufacturers and technical representatives to approve materials and systems. • Forecast costs, control margins, manage WIP and support estimating with risk registers and programmes. • Manage subcontractor and supplier selection, onboarding, performance and commercial compliance. • Act as senior client liaison, build pipeline through delivery excellence and support business development.

What You Bring

The role requires a hands‑on leader with deep PFP delivery knowledge, robust operational controls, and a growth mindset, capable of driving continuous improvement and embedding best practice across multi‑site programmes. The successful candidate will have proven operations leadership in PFP or related fire compliance disciplines, extensive knowledge of fire protection systems, experience managing labour and subcontractors, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to produce and review RAMS and apply CDM 2015. Desirable qualifications include ASFP Level 2/3, FIRAS/BM TRADA/IFC accreditation experience, SSSTS/SMSTS, CSCS, IOSH Managing Safely, and expertise in BS 8214 and fire‑stopping testing standards. • Proven operations leadership in Passive Fire Protection or related fire compliance. • Strong knowledge of fire stopping, cavity barriers, fire doors, compartmentation and intumescent coatings. • Demonstrated experience managing direct labour and subcontractors across multi‑site programmes. • Commercial acumen in cost control, forecasting and valuations. • Competence in producing/reviewing RAMS and applying CDM 2015. • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and reporting skills. • Desired certifications: ASFP Level 2/3, FIRAS/BM TRADA/IFC accreditation, SSSTS/SMSTS, CSCS, IOSH Managing Safely or NEBOSH. • Familiarity with BS 8214, BS 476, EN 1366 standards and door set expertise. • Experience in social housing, healthcare, education or similar operational environments. • Proficiency with MS Project, Excel, Power BI and digital evidence platforms.
