About the Role
In this role you will work across the full systems engineering lifecycle—from requirements through integration and test—collaborating with cloud engineers, software developers, and operations teams on high‑impact systems used worldwide. The position offers hands‑on technical growth, autonomy, and the opportunity to contribute meaningful engineering solutions. • Develop and document system requirements, operational concepts, and interface control documents. • Design system interfaces to ensure seamless integration of distributed components. • Conduct trade studies to guide technology, cloud, and architectural decisions. • Create integration and test plans, procedures, and test cases; execute tests and resolve defects. • Analyze test data to support technical decisions. • Manage engineering tasks, schedules, and milestones; produce technical reports and visualizations. • Lead and present at internal reviews and milestone checkpoints; communicate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

What You Bring

The Mid‑Level Systems Engineer position is contingent on contract award, requires the ability to obtain a government background check, and is open to U.S. citizens or permanent residents, preferably located in Sioux Falls, SD, with remote work considered. • Hold a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, MIS, or equivalent experience. • Bring 5+ years of systems engineering experience and a strong understanding of the SDLC. • Experience with AWS cloud services, modern cloud architectures, and tools such as DOORS, Jira, Confluence, and Git. • Knowledge of image processing workflows, database technologies, or scientific data systems; familiarity with AI/ML concepts. • Ability to support or modernize large‑scale distributed systems.

Benefits
The salary range for this position is $105,200‑$157,800, based on location, experience, and contract affordability.
