About the Role
In this role the engineer will collaborate with cross‑functional teams of engineers, planners and other disciplines to deliver multidisciplinary technical work, including design, specification and cost estimation for traction power and OCS systems on multiple concurrent Amtrak and other Northeast Corridor projects. The position also requires staying current with the latest engineering techniques, supporting business development, participating in WSP’s quality process, and assisting with contract negotiations, client meetings and project‑level decision making. • Design and specify traction power and OCS systems for multiple Amtrak and Northeast Corridor projects • Develop cost estimates and ensure compliance with standards and sound engineering practices • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and support business development proposals • Participate in quality assurance, contract negotiations, client meetings and technical presentations • Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of traction power and OCS engineering techniques

What You Bring
The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering (or a closely related discipline) and have at least five years of post‑graduation experience in planning, design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning and cut‑over of traction power and OCS systems for Amtrak or comparable railroads. Strong written and verbal communication skills, the ability to review complex technical documents, critical‑thinking and problem‑solving abilities, and a proven safety record are required. Immediate availability to work in the U.S., flexibility in schedule, occasional travel and adherence to WSP’s health, safety and conduct policies are also expected. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering and ≥5 years experience with rail traction power/OCS • Demonstrate strong written and interpersonal communication, critical‑thinking and safety record • Preferred: master’s degree and professional engineering licensure/certification

The expected salary range for this position is $100,900 – $180,860, with the final offer dependent on experience, education, internal equity and geographic location.
