About the Role
The engineer will collaborate with staff at all levels and work closely with the integrated construction team, leveraging BIM/VDC technology to advance project design. • Provide recommendations to programming and conceptual design, ensuring constructability and logistics solutions. • Coordinate with the integrated construction team to incorporate BIM/VDC modeling into the design phase. • Assist with project proposal development. • Prepare bid packages and contract manuals for subcontractors and suppliers alongside the project planning team. • Analyze and track LEED requirements. • Coordinate document and electronic interface processing. • Identify and resolve technical design and specification concerns. • Model and set the tone for extraordinary customer relations. • Gather feedback and clarification during the design process and identify future projects.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking a Design Phase Engineer II to translate owner expectations into design documents, specifications, and schedules while providing cost documentation. The role demands strong communication, flexibility, ingenuity, and high integrity in a dynamic environment. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating, or a related field. • Minimum four years of relevant experience. • Strong teamwork, initiative, communication, problem‑solving, and leadership skills. • Detail‑oriented with ability to manage multiple project tasks. • Basic understanding of construction law and business practices. • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, Project, and related web applications. • Positive professional attitude and strong customer service skills. • Ability to interpret and communicate Mortenson policies to employees and external parties. • Openness to change based on diverse input and feedback. • Ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds at all organizational levels. • Adaptive communication and active listening skills. • Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity, affirmative action, and inclusive behaviors. • Consistent record of including diverse members on challenging tasks. • Ability to travel up to 100%.
