About the Role
Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with front, side, or rear‑end lift attachments, delivering waste or recyclable containers to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. Depending on the route, drivers may handle residential pickups, roll‑off containers, or large mobile units, navigating high‑traffic streets, alleys, driveways, and tight industrial environments while performing skilled backing maneuvers. Core duties include operating the vehicle in compliance with WM safety rules, OSHA and DOT regulations, completing pre‑ and post‑trip inspections, documenting findings, and promptly reporting unsafe conditions or service issues. Drivers attend scheduled training, collaborate with the Operations Manager to improve route efficiency, communicate customer requests, and ensure each site is left clean after dumping. Drivers are expected to operate vehicles and equipment safely and reliably, delivering high‑quality service to the communities they serve while enjoying competitive pay and growth opportunities. • Operate heavy‑duty trucks with lift attachments to transport waste or recyclable containers up to 1,000 lb. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete DVIR documentation. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, accidents, property damage, and service interruptions to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Attend required training, briefings, and meetings; collaborate with Operations Manager to improve route efficiency. • Communicate customer requests and ensure receptacles are emptied and sites left clean and debris‑free. • Follow assigned routes, complete end‑of‑day paperwork, and perform check‑out procedures. • Assist other drivers as directed to meet customer needs.

What You Bring
Applicants must have at least one year of experience operating a commercial vehicle or equivalent recent military driving, be 18 or older, legally authorized to work in the United States, and possess a Class A or Class B CDL with an air‑brake endorsement. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The role requires physical stamina for standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, handling, sitting, talking, and hearing while performing the job duties and maneuvering heavy containers. • Minimum 1 year operating a CDL‑required vehicle or equivalent recent military driving. • Must be at least 18 years old and legally authorized to work in the United States. • Hold a Class A or Class B Commercial Driver License with an air‑brake endorsement. • High school diploma or GED preferred. • Ability to stand, walk, lift, push, pull, crouch, reach, handle, sit, talk, and hear while performing duties. • Capable of maneuvering heavy containers and executing skilled backing maneuvers in tight spaces.
