About the Role
As a Mechanical Design Coordinator, you will develop power‑related design options, prepare engineering drawing packages, cost estimates, and project specifications, and perform routine engineering tasks using standard techniques. You will manage small projects independently, support larger projects alongside senior engineers, and collaborate with Project Engineers, EITs, Designers, and BIM Specialists as needed. • Conduct analyses to develop power‑related design options and prepare project deliverables such as drawings, cost estimates, and specifications. • Perform routine engineering assignments using standard techniques and procedures. • Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables. • Work independently on small projects and assist senior engineers on larger projects. • Collaborate with Project Engineers, other EITs, Designers, or BIM Specialists as needed.

What You Bring
Preferred qualifications include an Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate; candidates without an EIT will be placed in a Design Coordinator role and expected to obtain the certification for career advancement. Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree in engineering, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and a commitment to actively participating in HDR’s employee‑owned culture. • Preferred: Hold an Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate (or obtain one for career progression). • Required: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering. • Required: Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
