What You Bring
RQC is seeking Construction Site Safety Officer (SSHO) candidates to support military projects in Jacksonville, Florida or Saint Mary’s, Georgia. The SSHO will plan, organize, and execute all safety administrative and performance requirements for the assigned project, adhering to contract specifications, EM‑385, OSHA standards, and RQC’s internal Safety Management System and Accident Prevention Plan. The role includes integration with the project team and may involve supervising daily safety activities for direct reports. Candidates must work on‑site, with relocation or travel required for non‑local hires. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of five years of applied experience in commercial construction and five years of on‑site construction safety management. Relevant certifications such as CHST, OHST, or ASP through BCSP, as well as OSHA training (including a current 30‑hour course), CPR, and First Aid, are required. Competent‑person training or demonstrated expertise in fall protection, confined spaces, electrical safety, trenching/excavation, personal protective equipment, and scaffolding is essential. Applicants should possess strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office, Outlook, and internet applications; familiarity with Viewpoint or RMS/QCS software is preferred. A documented record of at least 24 hours of safety training per year for the past five consecutive years is required. Prior experience with NAVFAC, USACE clients, and EM‑385‑1‑1 compliance is a plus. Benefits
The position offers an annual salary ranging from $90,000 to $125,000, based on experience, plus a vehicle allowance and comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits. Employees also receive paid vacation, sick leave, and holiday pay.
