About the Role

The role oversees crews in planning, layout, installation, and repair of wiring, conduit, electrical fixtures, apparatus, and control equipment. The employee ensures all work conforms to project specifications and follows strict safety standards. • Prepare sketches or follow diagrams/blueprints to ensure concealed wiring is installed before walls, ceilings, and flooring are completed. • Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit using tools such as hacksaw, pipe threader, rules, and conduit benders. • Pull wiring through conduit, assisted by a helper. • Splice wires by stripping insulation, twisting or soldering, and apply tape or terminal caps. • Connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment using hand tools. • Install and secure control and distribution apparatus, such as switches, relays, and circuit‑breaker panels. • Connect power cables to equipment and install grounding leads. • Test circuit continuity with instruments like ohmmeters, batteries, buzzers, and oscilloscopes to verify compatibility and safety. • Observe installed equipment or systems to identify hazards and determine need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. • Disassemble and repair defective electrical equipment or systems. • Load, transport, and unload material, tools, equipment, and supplies. • Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition. • Distinguish colors as required for wiring tasks. • Follow safety procedures such as lockout/tagout (LOTO). • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules. • Work under immediate supervision, following instructions and established guidelines while exercising some independent judgment. • Rate information using personal judgment or measurable standards. • Visualize details in objects or drawings as three‑dimensional. • Maintain physical stamina to stand, walk, sit, lift, carry, push, and pull up to 30 lb and handle forces of 70 ft‑lb.
