About the Role

As an Associate Director you will drive service development and delivery, contribute to the profit and performance of the service line, and play a key role in client and business development. You will also provide leadership to a growing team of project and programme managers. You will manage the delivery of health, life‑science and higher‑education projects, define delivery structures and resource plans, and motivate multidisciplinary teams to achieve clear outcomes. In addition, you will support programme governance, manage financial performance, maintain senior client relationships, develop specialist consultants, and help grow the business through thought‑leadership and bid proposals. • Deliver health, life‑science, and higher‑education projects of varying size and complexity. • Design and implement delivery structures, phasing, and resource plans to meet ROI targets. • Lead and motivate multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring clarity of outcomes and responsibilities. • Provide strategic solutions and guidance to senior client stakeholders. • Oversee programme governance and decision‑making, contributing subject‑matter expertise. • Manage project financial performance against budgets and revenue targets. • Act as senior account holder, fostering long‑term client partnerships. • Build and mentor a specialist consultancy team, identifying future leaders. • Drive business growth, meet strategic targets, and enhance service‑line profitability. • Produce thought‑leadership content such as white papers and case studies. • Identify new opportunities, develop pipelines, and author bid proposals.

What You Bring

The role requires demonstrable experience in complex construction consultancy or health/life‑science projects, excellent verbal and written communication, and the ability to engage senior stakeholders. Candidates must hold chartered membership in a relevant institute, possess recognised project or programme management qualifications, and show strong financial, commercial, and line‑management skills, alongside a track record in networking and business development. • Proven experience in complex construction consultancy, health, or life‑science projects. • Strong verbal and written communication; able to present at executive level. • Ability to engage diverse senior stakeholders and translate technical concepts. • Chartered membership in a construction institute (e.g., RICS, CIBSE, CIOB, APM, MICE). • Recognised project/programme management qualifications or chartership. • Robust financial management skills and commercial acumen. • Experience in line management and professional development of teams. • Demonstrated networking, business development, and bid management success.
