About the Role
• Remain employed for 12 months after obtaining the CDL. • Perform pre‑ and post‑operation vehicle inspections and report safety issues. • Safely operate a commercial truck on assigned routes, load and unload refuse, and operate the compactor. • Identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers per departmental procedures. • Continuously monitor waste for unacceptable material and vehicle condition, cleaning equipment each trip. • Follow all safety policies and procedures. • After licensing, perform full driver duties in residential, commercial, industrial, or roll‑off services.

What You Bring
A Driver Trainee at Republic Services will be trained to obtain a commercial driver’s license (CDL) through a comprehensive program that includes classroom study, on‑route training, and hands‑on driving experience. Upon successful completion and CDL certification, the trainee will transition into a full Driver role across various business lines such as Residential, Commercial, Industrial, or Roll‑Off. The role involves learning to conduct complete vehicle inspections, safely operate heavy trucks, load and unload refuse, and monitor waste and equipment conditions. Trainees will also learn to identify and tag unsatisfactory waste containers and adhere to all safety policies before assuming full driver responsibilities after licensing. • Complete Republic Services’ CDL training program, including classroom, on‑route training, and truck loan, and pass the state CDL exam.
