About the Role

The Branch Fleet Technician will be responsible for maintaining diesel equipment and hydrovac operation by performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and necessary adjustments and alignments. Corrections of vehicle deficiencies are made while keeping accurate records with guidance and direction. Work orders are managed in Fleetio to ensure comprehensive documentation and tracking. This role is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of diesel equipment, ultimately supporting the overall operational success of the organization. Compensation for this role will be commensurate based on education and/or experience. The technician performs inspections, diagnoses and repairs assigned vehicles and equipment, conducts safety checks, maintains clear communication with the Branch Manager and regional fleet staff, and ensures the hydrovac fleet operates smoothly by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance. They also stay current through educational opportunities, may respond to emergency service calls, and uphold a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards. • Perform inspection, diagnosis, and repair of assigned vehicles and equipment, including oil changes and greasing of trucks. • Conduct safety checks on trucks. • Maintain clear communication with the Branch Manager, Regional Fleet Staff, and maintenance department personnel. • Operate and maintain the Hydrovac fleet by following instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, and performing preventive maintenance. • Update job knowledge through educational opportunities and reading technical and regulatory publications. • Occasionally respond to emergency service calls for breakdowns. • Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA standards and established procedures. • Regularly lift or move objects weighing 25 to 50 lbs with moderate grasping, pushing, and pulling. • Provide own standard tools; specialty tools supplied by the company.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a high school diploma, be a licensed heavy‑duty technician, and possess a driver's license (Class B CDL preferred). The position demands frequent physical activity such as sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, reaching, crawling under vehicles, climbing ladders, and working in tight spaces, regularly handling objects weighing 25‑50 lb, and may require more than 40 hours per week. Success requires basic knowledge of electronic diagnostics, familiarity with Peterbilt and Western Star chassis and hydrovac equipment, and an understanding of DOT compliance and safety regulations. The technician must be computer literate in Fleetio, Microsoft Office, Outlook and Excel, and provide their own standard tools while specialty tools are supplied. • Education requirement: High School Diploma. • Licensed Heavy Duty Technician certification required. • Driver’s License required; Class B CDL preferred. • Physical demands include frequent sitting, standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, lifting, reaching, crawling under vehicles, climbing ladders, and working in tight spaces. • Basic knowledge of electronic diagnostics. • Experience with Peterbilt and Western Star chassis (a plus). • Experience troubleshooting Hydrovac equipment (a plus). • Understanding of DOT compliance, laws, rules, regulations, and safety (helpful). • Computer literate in Fleetio, Microsoft Office, Outlook, and Excel.
