About the Role

In this role, the Senior Engineer will perform design engineering and provide system design support, collaborating closely with all MEP disciplines to ensure well‑coordinated designs. Responsibilities include consulting with clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and authorities, conducting field surveys, system assessments, and commissioning, and attending coordination meetings and site visits. • Design and coordinate plumbing and fire protection systems across MEP disciplines. • Conduct field surveys, system assessments, and commissioning activities. • Attend coordination meetings and perform site visits. • Perform calculations under supervision and produce drawings per client and firm standards. • Apply ICC, NFPA, local, and NYC codes to all designs and specifications. • Conduct peer reviews and provide QA/QC oversight. • Interpret code requirements and develop fire safety plans. • Support business development by expanding client relationships and attending industry events.

The firm specializes in MEP, ICT, architectural lighting, vertical transportation, and commissioning, offering a dynamic work environment with a supportive culture, diverse workforce, competitive compensation, and a flexible schedule of Monday‑Thursday in‑office and Friday remote work. The position requires solid knowledge of plumbing systems design across commercial, industrial, institutional, and governmental facilities, including experience with fire alarm, standpipe/sprinkler, VESDA, clean‑agent systems, fire safety plans, and fire, smoke, and egress modeling. Strong communication skills are needed to convey design concepts through drawings and specifications. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering and have 8–10 years of field experience in fire protection and fire alarm system design, including at least three years of supervisory experience. Required knowledge includes ICC, NFPA, local and NYC codes, with NICET certification preferred (or attainable within two years). Additional qualifications include multistate licensure (or ability to obtain), federal security clearance, proficiency in AutoCAD‑MEP and Revit, strong interpersonal and presentation skills, CPD compliance, and a PE designation preferred. • Hold a bachelor's degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering. • Possess 8–10 years of fire protection and fire alarm system design experience. • Provide at least three years of supervisory experience. • Demonstrate knowledge of ICC, NFPA, and NYC codes; NICET certification preferred. • Obtain or be able to obtain multistate licensure and federal security clearance. • Proficient in AutoCAD‑MEP and Revit for design development. • Exhibit strong interpersonal, verbal, written, and presentation skills. • Maintain CPD compliance; PE designation preferred.
