About the Role
• Analyze bushing conductor designs and specifications to predict maximum operating current. • Apply IEC and IEEE standards to meet market or customer requirements. • Perform thermal design calculations and validation using analytical tools and FEM simulations. • Develop thermal design rules, technical documents, and test specifications. • Provide technical support for design validation, automation, and platform development. • Create sustainable tools and applications to streamline bushing design validation. • Collaborate with the virtual simulation team to improve simulation techniques and processes. • Offer simulation support to the global product care team for maintenance activities. • Support bushing engineering teams with failure analysis and root‑cause investigations. • Ensure compliance with external regulations, internal procedures, and safety guidelines.

What You Bring
The role requires a dynamic professional who can work in a fast‑paced environment, collaborate across diverse cultures, and manage multiple tasks to meet timelines while maintaining strong communication skills. The ideal candidate has an advanced engineering degree and extensive experience in thermal analysis, heat‑mass transfer, and computational simulations. • Hold a master’s degree in thermal or mechanical engineering with a focus on thermodynamics or CFD. • Possess 5+ years of industrial experience in thermal design, heat‑mass transfer calculations, and CFD simulations. • Demonstrate strong expertise in COMSOL Multiphysics, including add‑on interfaces and programming. • Know multiphysics simulations involving thermal analysis, CFD, and fluid‑structure interaction. • Be proficient in programming languages such as MATLAB, Mathcad, Python, or Java. • Understand thermal properties, heat‑transfer coefficients, volumetric loss, and insulation materials. • Have knowledge of transformer bushings, temperature‑rise testing, and thermal stability. • Familiarity with high‑voltage products, global standards, OEM regulations, and industry practices. • Communicate fluently in written and spoken English.
