About the Role

The Project Accountant joins the Finance and Commercial team, handling full‑cycle project accounting, including payables, receivables, tax filings, accruals, and month‑end/year‑end close. The role prepares monthly financial reports, monitors costs, revenues, cash flow, ensures budget compliance, and collaborates with project managers to identify cost overruns or savings. The position also conducts financial audits, provides variance and cash‑flow analysis, coordinates with external auditors and tax advisors, and stays current on accounting regulations and best practices. • Manage full‑cycle project accounting: accounts payable, receivable, holdback accounts, HST filings, accruals, month‑end and year‑end close. • Prepare and submit accurate monthly financial reports and support year‑end reporting. • Monitor project costs, revenues, and cash flow to ensure compliance with budgets and identify savings. • Review and reconcile project‑related ledger accounts, including payables and receivables. • Collaborate with project managers to track progress and flag potential cost overruns. • Conduct regular financial audits and ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards. • Perform variance, cost‑benefit, and cash‑flow analyses to support project decisions. • Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies as required. • Stay updated on changes in accounting regulations and industry best practices.

What You Bring

• Hold a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field; CPA designation preferred. • Possess 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in construction, with strong understanding of accounting principles. • Demonstrate proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and excellent analytical/problem‑solving skills. • Exhibit strong communication, teamwork, detail orientation, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
