About the Role
The Project Manager will provide overall leadership for project quality, timeliness, and safety, while mentoring the project team and enhancing customer relationships through excellent service. The position focuses on large excavation projects supporting Mortenson’s renewables and site development initiatives. • Manage overall financial health of projects, including budgeting, cost codes, and invoice approvals. • Support or lead EPC contract negotiations and prepare technical exhibits and schedules. • Lead vendor procurement and bid/award phases for major subcontractors and suppliers. • Create monthly owner billings and supply billing information to accounting for timely payment. • Supervise and develop Assistant Project Managers and Project Engineers, approve timecards, and provide coaching.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Construction Project Manager I for its Civil Group. The role requires interacting with staff at all levels in a dynamic environment, staying flexible, resourceful, proactive, and efficient while maintaining a high level of professionalism and confidentiality. Strong problem‑anticipation, creative solution‑finding, and excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or equivalent experience. • Minimum six years of experience, preferably with large self‑perform excavation projects. • Demonstrated supervisory and leadership abilities; experience in commercial construction, renewable energy, EPC contracting, or emerging technologies is a plus. • Ability to manage multiple project tasks with strong attention to detail and basic knowledge of construction law. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project/web applications; possess a valid driver’s license.

Benefits
This is a 100% travel position based anywhere in the U.S., with monthly home rotations. Upon completion of one project, the manager will be assigned to the next, emphasizing Mortenson’s commitment to career‑long employment rather than single‑project assignments. Base salary ranges from $113,500 to $110,300, with higher rates for certain locations.
