About the Role

• Prepare design packages for various RIBA stages, including drawings, specifications, reports, and hydraulic calculations. • Create fire suppression system solutions for multiple applications throughout all design stages. • Perform calculations for sprinkler water supplies and gaseous agent quantities. • Support remote project‑delivery teams. • Conduct technical reviews and assist in solving design issues. • Perform field investigations or inspections. • Communicate effectively with project teams, clients, authorities, contractors, and other stakeholders. • Support the project manager on projects of varying scale, delivery, and technical assurance. • Maintain or be working towards Engineering Council registration (CEng/IEng).

What You Bring

We are seeking a Senior Fire Protection Engineer specialized in fire‑fighting systems design, based in St. Albans, London, Manchester, or Croydon. The role is consultancy‑focused, requiring design expertise and client‑oriented engineering within a collaborative environment. You will design, calculate and propose fire safety solutions on projects of various sizes, act as a key contact, conduct surveys, produce reports and support day‑to‑day project management. • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills. • Exhibit strong quantitative and analytical abilities. • Hold a relevant engineering degree or professional qualification. • Possess experience in consultancy or related industries. • Know British and International standards and Building Regulations. • Have experience with fire suppression systems such as sprinklers, water mist, gaseous suppression, risers, hydrants, hose reels, and hypoxic systems. • Proficient with software tools including Word, Excel, CAD, Revit, and hydraulic analysis tools. • Earn or be working towards a BEng/MEng degree.
