About the Role

The Industrial Pipe Fitter assembles, layouts, installs, and maintains pipe systems for steam, fluid, or gas applications. Work locations include buildings, outdoor sites, underground excavations, and heights up to 300 feet, often inside tanks or boilers. Key duties involve reading blueprints and specifications to determine material quantities, identifying necessary tools and safety precautions, fabricating and installing pipe components such as valves, flanges, supports, and hangers, and performing tests to ensure system quality. The role also includes safe hoisting of loads with rigging equipment. The position does not have direct reports but will occasionally oversee helpers and laborers, providing expertise and guidance as needed. • Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical manuals to determine material requirements. • Identify and gather all tools and safety equipment needed for each task. • Fabricate, install, and fit pipe systems, including valves, flanges, supports, and hangers. • Perform quality tests and inspections on installed piping. • Hoist loads safely using slings, chains, shackles, hooks, and other rigging equipment. • Oversee helpers and laborers as needed, providing expertise and guidance. • Adhere to PPE usage and safety regulations while working at heights up to 300 ft and lifting up to 50 lb.

What You Bring

Candidates must have at least four years of experience as an Industrial Pipe Fitter or Helper, be able to read and interpret prints, and possess solid leadership and communication abilities. Experience on industrial construction projects is required. Required qualifications include a demonstrated history in industrial construction or maintenance, strong problem‑solving skills, manual dexterity, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Preferred qualifications are Zachry ROF status, prior Zachry employment, NCCER certification, and formal technical education. Physical demands involve extensive standing, walking, bending, lifting up to 50 lb, and occasional work at heights with fall protection. Employees must wear appropriate PPE and be able to work up to 12‑hour shifts in all weather conditions. • Possess 4+ years of experience in industrial pipe fitting or as a pipe fitter helper. • Demonstrate strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving abilities. • Work independently with minimal supervision and effectively as a team player. • Preferred: NCCER certification, former Zachry employment, or Zachry ROF status. • Capable of working 12‑hour shifts outdoors in heat, cold, rain, snow, or wind.
